In fact, I never read it unless I&#8217;m on vacation and have no other option.  That being said, I could not resist clicking on a banner for USAToday.com that was advertising the top Travel stories of this past week.  The story that really called out to me was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/travel\/destinations\/2006-01-06-verge-of-vanishing_x.htm\">&#8220;Vanishing Treasures: 5 places to see before they are gone&#8221;<\/a>.  According to this paper, here are the top 5 cultural treasures that are in danger of going bye-bye:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The snows of Kilimanjaro<\/li>\n<li>Polar bears on Hudson Bay<\/li>\n<li>Ancient Egyptian archaeological sites<\/li>\n<li>Gullah\/Geechee culture<\/li>\n<li>Monarch butterflies&#8217; annual migration<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I&#8217;ll have to check my calendar but odds are I&#8217;m not seeing any of these in &#8217;06.
