In keeping with today’s music vibe, Jessie sent me a link about how the Dave Matthews Band is totally lame and said, “it’s funny and sort of true (even though I love Dave – or should I call him Mr. Matthews).” As her favorite band is the Dave Matthews Band, I just had to post it.

I CANNOT stand this guy and have been wondering for years what the hell people see in his personality free music. I’m telling you, if someone tells me they like him I lose some respect for the person…sorry Jessie-it just has to be said 🙂
Well, you can lose some respect for me as well because while he is far from my favorite musician out there, I do believe that he is very talented and a great performer. Case in point: watch the VH1 Special where Dave and Trey (from Phish) travel to Africa to play with Orchestra Baobab (a Senegalian/Senegalese/whichever is the right way of saying it band that played Live 8). It rocks the house and you come away very impressed with the both of them.
Also, in September Jessie and I might be on TV as Jessie and I were lucky enough to go the taping of a “Storytellers” episode staring the DMB a few weeks back. Only 150-200 were in the audiance at a great BAM theatre – the acoustics and performance were awesome. Obviously, Jessie was in heaven. Me, I was just in Brooklyn but I was listening to some good tunes. There are a number of times when I’m pretty sure they caught us on camera grooving away. We’ll see when it finally airs…
Dave Matthews is lame.
